BIOGRAPHY RONALD MAAS
Ron studied bass guitar at the jazz department of Utrecht Conservatoire (NL). Between 2004 and 2010 he worked with jazz quartet Perron19, with who he released two albums.

Ron has always been a pop song writer. Together with Ruud Bakker and a host of other band members he's been on the Dutch music scene from 2007 till 2015 with the band Number Nine. The song Sun Sun Sun of the debut EP earned them the 3FM Serious Talent status in 2009, which got Number Nine airplay on national radio. In 2012 and 2014 the band brought out two albums, with which they toured in Germany and the UK.

To widen his horizon he joined the band Audio Adam from 2011 till 2015. In that time the quartet was very succesful with multiple singles on national radio and shows at great festivals and venues, including supporting Counting Crows at Heineken Music Hall Amsterdam.

In the summer of 2015 Ron moved to London. Shortly after that he started working with Jaya and Valerio Lysander. With both he released singles in 2016. To find a good place for the songs he wrote himself he founded the Sexy Indie Rock band PaperWolf. Over the course of a year they played dozens of iconic London venues, released an album, toured in the UK and received airplay on BBC Introducing. Because the band decided it was improbable that they could improve on that, they quit the band after a year. Mission accomplished.

Ron now lives in Manchester. The London based band JAYA is still one of his musical priorities. Ron plays bass and keys, sings backing vocals and is involved with the arrangements and production of the upcoming album. Another priority is his solo repertoire. In early 2018 he self-produced the 4-track concept EP ARIES. Some other songs are being recorded with a group of visionary musicians at Pinhole Sound in Manchester. The release of this project is expected in 2019.
