Ron
graduated from Utrecht Conservatoire (NL) in 2005
with an Honours degree in Jazz and Pop. He's always
been a performer as well as a tutor. In the past two
decades he has taught bass- and piano lessons to
many students. He's also done recording- and
coaching projects with a dozen bands.
The content of the lessons is dependent on your
wishes and will be tailored to your specific needs.
Ron's teaching method is chord based and includes
all necessary music theory, which helps to give you
a good understanding of how music works. Lessons
could then develop into working on improvisation
skills, songwriting/composition and/or the ability
to play songs by ear.
For bass guitar and double bass lessons Ron usually
works on a mix of bass tabs and chord sheets. On
piano it works well to do a mix of sheet music and
chord sheets, but all of this can be discussed.
Around the songs you'll be working on, the lessons
will include the necessary technical exercises and
bits of theory to make you understand how to take
the next step. |

Great
teacher. Very knowledgeable with a good laid back
style of teaching that makes lessons feel informal.

Ronald
is polite, confident and friendly. He put me at ease
and is clearly skilled. We did some fundamental
technique work and talked a little at the end about
creativity and songwriting. Big thumbs up! - Dafydd |

I
have to say Ron is fantastic teacher. He's not only
super passionate in his lessons, but extremely
patient and engaging in his style of teaching. I'm
currently learning Jazz piano, which is great as Ron
has a deep understanding of musical theory and
implements this alongside playing in his lessons. I
couldn't recommend him enough to beginners, those
trying to get back into playing such as myself, or
players more advanced - Joe |

I
really like the private lessons, because Ronald
focuses completely on the development process of me
as a specific student - Margreet |

I
recommend Ronald because he is very funny and isn't
like a normal teacher. The piano lessons are fun and
I feel happy because I have become more confident
about my skills on the piano - Jonah |
